You may have noticed the name change as the ChatterBox name is being retired.
Blackout Comms is meant to reflect the fact that these devices and firmware are designed to work in a communication blackout or grid outage.
Some of our custom hardware designs have recently gained FCC approval, so they will be offered for sale.
The Blackout Comms Link is the first completely original Altware device to become available. The full touchscreen communicator will be available soon.

Going forward, the device type known as nodes will be referred to as links in documentation and product pages, but you can think of node and link as interchangeable. They are exactly the same thing, but hopefully for some people "Link" provides a little more clarity around what the devices do.
Communicator - for communicating
Link - for being an extra link in your mesh cluster
