Message Delivery Confirmation
When you send an off-grid message with Blackout Comms, the message's status icon (checkmark, etc) indicates whether the message was fully delivered, currently being delivered via mesh, or waiting for an opportunity to get into the mesh.

How Delivery Confirmation Works
-
Messages are encrypted, signed, and broken into multiple packets.
-
Each packet is sent either to the final recipient (if in range) or to another device that an assist with meshing.
-
When all packets are received, the signature is checked.
-
Direct messages are signed with a sender's private key. Broadcasts are signed with a cluster-wide symmetric key.
-
Blackout Comms uses hashing, timestamps, elliptic curve digital signatures, and other techniques to authenticate messages.
-
When you see a checkmark, it means all tests passed - message is authentic
