Compatible Sensors & Components
These components are compatible with the ChatterBox firmware. If added to a node (DIY build plans), you can interact with them remotely and securely via any on-cluster communicator. If added, it may take your cluster a few minutes or more to recognize that a node has these additional capabilities.
GPS / GNSS
Any communicator or node that has GNSS onboard regularly share its location, heading, and speed (encrypted) with the rest of your private cluster. That location info will be propagated to out-of-range devices as well. GNSS can also function as a time source.
Proximity / Motion Sensors
Sense and be notified of people and/or motion. Nodes with these sensors can be queried (via any communicator) for last detected motion, and configured to notify. The XM125 can also report distance and very approximate movement speed (fast, medium, slow).
Relays
Allow you to remotely open/close a circuit using any communicator. When combined with a proximity sensor, you can configure the node to automatically close a circuit when the proximity sensor detects motion.
Realtime Clocks
For security reasons, ChatterBox devices need to have a good source of time. GPS can be a source of time, but it slows down the device startup (waiting for a signal or help from a nearby device). If you have a realtime clock, startup is instant, even with no GPS signal.
